We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management Alternatives Solutions business for a Senior Product Development Manger.

The Alternatives Product Development team is geographically spread between London and New York and leads the research, analysis and development for all Alternative products created by HSBC Asset Management globally.  Asset classes include Direct Lending, Infrastructure Debt, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Renewables, Private Markets and Hedge Fund of Funds.

The role will be a senior member of the Product Development team in the UK, focused primarily on UK/European products across a variety of structures and asset classes.

In this role you will:

  • In conjunction with the Alternative Investment teams, analyse and prepare feasibility studies and business cases for new products for submission to the relevant Product Committees.
  • Product structuring and design: convert product ideas into product designs.  Define structure features relating to domicile, legal / regulatory structure, liquidity, investment objectives / policies and pricing actions.   Identifying key design issues and develop options/solutions. Also ensure the appropriate ESG classification and disclosures are applied to the product.
  • Obtain budget approvals for projects from senior management, obtain approval of new products with the relevant Boards and ensure projects are delivered in line with expected budgets.
  • Analyse the tax / regulatory landscape from a fund, client and investment perspective and analyse impact on product range and lead development / changes.
  • Perform market analysis, competitor and product research relating to both existing and new products.  Stay abreast of market developments, define product positioning and target markets. 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong knowledge and working experience of Alternative Investment asset classes (Infrastructure Debt, Venture Capital, Real Estate, Renewables, Private Markets and Hedge Fund of Funds) is essential
  • Good knowledge of Private Credit Fund and how the corresponding investment strategy processes are implemented is essential.
  • Have a strong commercial awareness with the ability able to view projects through a commercial lens to effectively ensure that the cost and value impact is achieved.
  • Highly analytical with the ability to digest information in various forms and sources and create easily digestible content, reports and presentations for a varied audience including internal colleagues and teams and external client stakeholders.
  • Possess excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engender a ‘Trusted Advisor’ status across a varied internal and external audience is essential
  • Really organised and adept at solving problems with the capability of taking a pragmatic approach to managing conflicting priorities.

This role is based In London and there will be occasional travel in Europe.
