We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager – Wholesale Impairment (IFRS 9).
You’ll play a pivotal role at the centre of Group decision-making, owning and shaping IFRS 9 wholesale impairment across a global banking environment. You’ll work directly with Senior stakeholder across Risk, Finance and Audit, influencing key business outcomes while driving high-impact analytical insights. This is a highly visible role where your expertise will not only ensure robust, audit-ready outputs but also directly inform strategic decisions across the organisation.

In this role you will:
- Lead the end-to-end IFRS 9 wholesale impairment process, ensuring accurate, timely and well controlled delivery
- Review and challenge ECL outputs, identifying key drivers, trends anomalies to support decision-making
- Partner with global stakeholders across Risk, Finance, Audit and the business to interpret results and drive outcomes
- Support and enhance impairment models and methodologies, ensuring strong governance and continuous improvement
- Deliver high quality reporting and insights to senior management, including governance forums and committees
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive experience in IFSR 9 impairment within a wholesale banking environment, including stage 1-3 ECL methodologies
- Deep technical understanding of impairment models, systems and data flows, including key controls and governance
- Confident in data analysis and financial modelling, using tools such as Excel, SAS and Python
- Demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior audiences across Risk, Finance and Audit
- Proven ability to interpret and explain complex impairment movement and driver clearly and commercially
