We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Sanctions & Products Oversight.

You’ll sit at the centre of HSBC’s global Financial Crime agenda, leading sanctions oversight across products and geographies, shaping how risk is identified, challenged and mitigated at scale. This is a high-impact role with direct exposure to senior stakeholders, where you’ll influence strategic decisions, drive consistency across regions, and play a key role in protecting the bank and its customers from financial crime risk.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Lead global oversight of sanctions risk across products, ensuring effective controls, governance and consistent application across regions
  • Lead deep-dive assessments of sanctions risks driven by regulatory change, market developments, or new products/services.
  • Conduct thematic reviews, identifying control weaknesses and driving remediation actions with senior stakeholders
  • Act as a central point of contact for sanctions oversight activities, engaging with Group, regional teams and business lines to influence outcomes
  • Analyse sanctions data, MI and trends to provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations to senior leadership
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of sanctions frameworks, policies and oversight methodologies across the Group

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Extensive experience in sanctions or financial crime risk within a global financial services organisation
  • Strong sanctions risk knowledge and the ability to interpret regulatory developments and assess the impact on banking products and services
  • Awareness of new product developments within the financial services sector (e.g. digital services, new payment channels, digital assets & currencies, etc.) and ability to assess associated sanctions risk
  • Confident in engaging with product experts and senior stakeholders to challenge effectively and constructively drive positive outcomes
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience interpreting complex data and translating into meaningful insights
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to produce high-quality reporting and present clearly to senior audiences
