We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Manager Global IFRS 9.
Global IFR9 Calculation and Reporting forms part of the HSBC Financial Operations function and has team members based in Gurgaon, Chennai and London. The different verticals within the team play a critical role in the on-going delivery of IFRS, FINREP and Pillar 3 credit disclosures. The team is a center of excellence for credit knowledge within the HSBC Finance community.
In this role, you will:
- Collaborate and engage closely with Wholesale and Retail Credit Risk to become an SME for credit knowledge for the Finance community with the ability to interpret and communicate credit risk matters to senior stakeholders.
- Support Financial Controllers, Global Chief Risk Officer and in their credit review and challenge process.
- Provide assurance over Group external disclosures and accompanying narrative to both Finance and Risk.
- Design, produce and review insightful analytics which assist the review and challenge of IFRS 9 impairment results at a Group level and the associated external disclosures.
- Partner with Investor Relations, Group External Reporting, Risk Strategy, Regulatory Reporting and other stakeholders to make best in class credit disclosures.
- Design, produce and review credit disclosures to ensure best practice and compliance with listing requirements and regulatory standards.
- Project manage new disclosures implementations, peers reviews and data collection mechanisms for complex financial information at global level.
- Maintain a robust and compliant control environment.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CA or equivalent).
- Current experience working within a large Bank or Top Tier Accountancy Firms.
- Demonstrable experience of IFRS 9 and other relevant regulatory and best practice reporting.
- Financial and regulatory reporting and external disclosure experience for a large financial institution and solid experience of preparing or auditing published financial statements.
- Ability to design, document and communicate analytical procedures to provide assurance over external financial statements.
- Experience of preparing technical/formal papers which are delivered to a senior management level.
- Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the policy, strategy, initiatives and narrative to life (e.g., PowerPoint presentations to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management).
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority, businesses, and geographies).
The base location for this role will be London and with a hybrid working pattern.
