The Senior Manager: Global Content Centre of Excellence will lead marketing’s Content Centre of Excellence, ensuring high-quality, consistent, and impactful content delivery across global CIB marketing initiatives. This role is responsible for content strategy, curation, governance, optimisation and best practice — with a focus on content management, prioritisation, and curation with an ability to simplify complex ideas into compelling content for diverse audiences— to support business growth, brand positioning, and client/customer engagement.

Reporting to the Global Head of Marketing Services, the role oversees the planning, creation, and deployment of global content assets across multiple channels and regions. The role holder will run the Global Editorial Board, ensuring content is aligned to strategic priorities, and will lead integration with sales enablement content for frontline colleagues to drive client conversations and revenue opportunities.

The role will lead a small, high-performing team, fostering strong collaboration with global, regional, and local marketing teams, as well as key business stakeholders.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities

 

Campaigns, Content & Projects

  • Lead the Content Centre of Excellence, driving best practices in content creation, management, and delivery across all markets.
  • Develop and manage the global content strategy, ensuring alignment with CIB marketing priorities and business objectives.  Create and oversee the global content calendar to ensure consistency, timeliness, and integration with other marketing activities.  Oversee content prioritisation processes to focus resources on high-impact content initiatives aligned to the business requirements.
  • Chair and run the Global Editorial Board, bringing together stakeholders from across the business to align on key campaigns, messaging, and timelines.
  • Lead the development and delivery of sales enablement content for frontline colleagues, including playbooks, pitch materials, case studies, and client-facing collateral.
  • Ensure all content meets brand guidelines, tone of voice, and compliance standards.
  • Manage relationships with content agencies, writers, and other external partners.
  • Work closely with other marketing functions, including campaigns, events, digital, and brand, to ensure integrated campaign delivery.

Commercial Strategy & Growth Marketing

  • Support the global marketing strategy for Global Corporates and Institutions, aligning with commercial growth objectives.
  • Identify and prioritise content marketing opportunities within the Global Corporates and Institutions segments.
  • Lead content curation, ensuring existing assets are optimised, repurposed, and relevant to global and local needs.

Measurement & Insights

  • Implement content performance tracking, reporting, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Track and analyse performance metrics for all activity, against the activity objectives.
  • Utilise data insights to continuously refine marketing strategies.
  • Advocate for insight for marketing and go-to-market activities.

Leadership & Teamwork 

  • Lead and develop a team of content marketing specialists across various areas and regions, setting clear objectives.
  • Influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, regional teams and Marketing Strategy leads, ensuring cohesive marketing efforts with the client/customer at the heart of decisions.
  • Deliver regular global check in’s for marketing activity across Global and Local CIB teams, in conjunction with Global Brand, to deliver support and guidance for all things CIB brand and CIB global campaigns.
  • Promote Agile Principles and foster a collaborative working environment that reflects HSBC’s values.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable high level of marketing experience, with proven experience in content marketing, content strategy, and/or editorial management with a focus on commercial marketing within global banking or financial services.
  • Skilled in leading content planning processes and managing editorial boards with a proven ability to translate client and market insights into effective marketing strategies and campaigns.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills within global, matrixed organizations.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or Master’s in Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
