HSBC Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of HSBC Asset Management, investing globally in a wide spectrum of alternatives asset classes which include private market funds, hedge funds, real assets (direct real estate and energy transition infrastructure equity) , infrastructure and private debts, venture capital, with an AUM of ~$64 billion and ~300 staff across 10 offices (inc. London, New York, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong and Singapore).
We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for an Alternative Investment Operations - Please note that this is a 12 months FIXED TERM CONTRACT.
The Alternative Investments Operations Team is responsible for the global investment operations function comprises portfolio transaction services, core investment support and control to enable investment decisions, product/portfolio controllership for all alternative investment products of HSBC Alternatives. The team operates from centres of excellence in London, Dusseldorf, Singapore and Bangalore
Part of the Alternatives Operations Team, the Investment Operations Senior Manager will support the operations of the Evergreen & open-ended Hedge Funds portfolios, in the form of Mandates, Funds-of-Funds and UCITS.
In this role you will:
- Management and oversight of investments operations activities, with a focus on Evergreen & Hedge Funds mandates, funds-of-funds and UCITS.
- Be accountable for a number of key deliverable areas covering Transaction & Trade Services, Product Launches, Valuation Oversight, Liquidity & Treasury management, Pricing positioning and Management Information KPI’s.
- Develop collaborative stakeholder relationships and provide contribution to the oversight of service providers (engagement, monitoring) in collaboration with Global Fund Services, Investor queries (RFP, queries management); provide support and oversight to the offshore Alternatives operations team
- Actively input into Identifying gaps and solutions for process improvements to BAU activities.
- Ensure regulatory and tax changes are managed by implementing financial crime compliance & control, support business continuity, executing Operational Risk Management Framework, design and maintenance of procedures and policies consistent with controls.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive experience in alternative investment products specifically in Evergreen / Open-Ended Funds, Mandates, Fund Structuring, UCITS and Fund-of-Funds is essential
- Really well organised and comfortable with managing multiple demands and deadlines with conflicting priorities in an efficient and accurate manner is essential
- Highly developed stakeholder management skills that engender a ‘Trusted Partner’ status within a varied audience that includes internal teams and leaders, external service providers and clients / investors is essential.
- One of the following professional qualifications are desirable: CAIA, CFA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CTA, FRM, PRMIA.
