HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management business for a Senior Manager, Research and Insights.
The asset management industry is experiencing an unprecedented level of change and potential disruption, driven by changing client needs, increased competition and a digitalisation of our interactions with clients. In this context, AM’s content has to play a greater role in exhibiting our intellectual capital to our clients and it requires us to increase our external visibility with insightful publications that also have to help the Business teams to engage with their clients – you will be expected to deliver content that increase our visibility and demonstrates the quality of our investment function.
The primary responsibility of the role is to support the investment content strategy. This is a crucial component of our ‘investment excellence’ initiative. By facilitating content production, the successful candidate will support the development of AM’s visibility and businesses.
It is worth noting that this role is NOT a marketing role related to the design and creation of marketing material but aligned to written content and publishing
In this role you will:
- Responsible of the production of regular and ad hoc investment commentary, articles, white papers, marketing texts, website pages, video scripts and others across a full range of investment capabilities and targeted audiences including institutional and wholesale investors - pension funds, sovereign investors, insurance companies, other consultants and retail clients etc
- Support the development and execution of the Content strategy globally, working with stakeholders to prioritise and support key strategic initiatives, this includes idea generation for regular publications and articles and keeping up to speed with industry news.
- Maintaining the quality and consistency of the content produced, this involves working closely with multiple stakeholders, including Sales, Investment and other Business Teams in order to facilitate the delivery of high-quality content within the relevant timeframe.
- Ensure that all content conforms to HSBC AM best practice standards and regulatory requirements which includes compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the creation and use of content.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following Essential Requirements:
- Possess a strong understanding of Asset Management asset classes and the associated investment processes is essential
- Outstanding written communication skills and extremely adept at writing business related content, selecting the appropriate messaging style in order to produce compelling narratives is essential.
- Ability to influence and manage stakeholder relationships that requiring the ability to balance competing demands while maintaining high quality standards and meeting time-sensitive deadlines is essential
- Extremely well organised and takes a pragmatic approach to dealing with multiple demands on your time and managing tasks is essential
- Having a recognised Financial Services qualification, i.e. CFA or similar would be a bonus
