We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, Group Media (Financial & Strategic).
The Senior Manager, Group Media (Financial & Strategic) will support the wider media team to strengthen reputation through delivery of external communications, effective handling of reputational media issues and proactive media engagement. The role will also be responsible for the efficient running of the Group’s media governance policy.

In this role you will:
•Lead initiatives to actively manage, enhance, and protect HSBC's reputation on a global scale, ensuring alignment with the Group's strategic objectives and values.
•Stay at the forefront of the external news landscape, ensuring Corporate Media Relations is poised to respond swiftly and effectively to emerging issues, thereby safeguarding HSBC's interests.
•Oversee the development and execution of strategic communications and messaging for critical financial calendar events, including quarterly results and the AGM, ensuring clarity and consistency in all communications.
•Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of key media titles and industry influencers, enabling HSBC to target media effectively and enhance understanding of the Group’s purpose and strategy.
•Build and sustain strong working relationships with influential media stakeholders, positioning HSBC as a trusted and authoritative voice in the industry.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
•Extensive media relations experience to strategically manage and enhance HSBC's media presence.
•Ability to establish and nurture effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
•Knowledge of social media channels and their uses to complement traditional media strategies.
•Prior experience of managing and coaching colleagues.
•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to deliver information to senior stakeholders.
This role is based in London, Hybrid.
