We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Manager, ESG Media.

 

The Senior Group ESG Media Manager will support the wider media team to strengthen reputation through delivery of external communications, effective handling of reputational media issues and proactive media engagement. The role will also be responsible for the efficient running of the Group’s media governance policy.

In this role you will:

 

•Offer expert advice and insights to the Head of Group Media and Head of Group External Communications, focusing on ESG media issues. This proactive approach ensures HSBC's reputation is managed effectively in areas concerning environmental, social, and governance matters.

•Lead the strategic management of HSBC's reputation by providing specialist counsel and insights to the Head of Group Media and Head of Group External Communications, particularly on ESG media issues. This involves anticipating potential reputational challenges and implementing proactive measures to address them effectively.

•Take charge of delivering a proactive media strategy focused on Group ESG matters, including climate and societal impact. This strategy aims to enhance HSBC's reputation by aligning media engagements with our values and objectives.

•Stay ahead of the external news landscape, ensuring that Corporate Media Relations can swiftly and effectively respond to emerging issues, thereby safeguarding HSBC's interests.

•Build and sustain strong relationships with influential media stakeholders, positioning HSBC as a trusted and authoritative voice in the industry.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

•Extensive media relations experience to strategically manage and enhance HSBC's media presence.

•Ability to establish and nurture effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

•Knowledge of social media channels and their uses to complement traditional media strategies.

•Prior experience of managing and coaching colleagues.

•Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to deliver information to senior stakeholders.

 

This role is based in London, Hybrid.
