The core purpose of the Senior Investment Counsellor role is to provide investment advice to the clients of the Private Bank. The client segment has a highly diverse client base in terms of the complexity of their needs and their previous investment experience. The role therefore requires a combination of robust technical ability and strong client facing skills which allows for presentations to be adapted to the individual client situation. You will also be responsible for a larger, more complex book of clients, and aim to influence the wider team/business via your contributions.
In this role you will:
- Act as a client-facing investment specialist to position the investment message of the Private Bank in a portfolio context and provide investment advice directly to clients on both Advisory and Discretionary investments
- Work in conjunction with Relationship Managers (RM) on prospect pitches by delivering the Private Bank’s investment ethos and services to potential clients
- Be accountable for assessing client needs, developing a comprehensive investment strategy, coordinating sales and execution against that strategy, and monitoring performance and appropriateness of the client’s overall investment portfolio.
- Perform ongoing portfolio reviews to align client portfolios to their risk profile and investment objectives
- As well as RMs, you will actively engage with Business Heads and other Product Specialists to achieve optimal client & business outcomes.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive investment advisory experience in a regulated client facing context
- Minimum Level 6 CISI/RDR qualified or other equivalent level regulated qualifications
- Proven track record of running a large and complex book of HNW/UHNW clients across business segments and spanning various products and strategies
- A highly collaborative working approach - the ability to develop trust and credibility with fellow front office teams & colleagues as well clients
- The ability to think strategically, taking into account broader factors that can impact the wider business or team activities
