We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Financial Engineer on a Fixed term Contract basis until the end of December 2026.

 

Financial Engineering (GRA) is a part of HSBC’s Global Risk Function which provides solutions using analytics, tools, and models to identify, measure and manage key risks.

In this role you will:

 

•Design, build and implementation of GRA Traded Risk Quantitative libraries. The success of this library will be measured against the time to deployment, time of turnover on bugs, test KPIs.

•Deliver a coding environment that is easy to use, is robust and can be fully re-used.

•Work closely with GRA Quant Analysts, IT and Front Office to create synergies across different functions and departments.

•Ensure FIM and other applicable accounting/regulatory requirements are met.

•Liaise with Internal/External audit and regulators where necessary.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

•Strong knowledge of risk-related regulations, with experience in building and maintaining Credit Risk related models, in particular xVA pricing.

•Advanced experience in building end-to-end applications encompassing all phases of software development lifecycle.

•Strong knowledge in Software Engineering, Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns

•Critical programming skills in Python as well as a deep understanding of software architecture in particular of distributed systems.

• Experience of creating and leading a small global team.

 

This role is based in London, Hybrid.
