We’re looking for a commercially astute and technically strong Senior Associate to support both portfolio management and deal execution.
This role is suitable for a proactive and committed professional who thrives in a fast growing and dynamic environment. It offers an excellent opportunity to enhance technical expertise, client engagement and deal management skills. The WHL team has a broad spectrum of skills developed from experience working at IBs, rating agencies, and specialist commercial banks.
The value you’ll add:
This is a role spanning both portfolio management and transaction execution within WHL. You will take responsibility to key portfolio processes and will also support deal qualification, structuring and execution for existing clients and new opportunities. The role is client-facing and requires strong stakeholder management, requiring effective coordination with internal stakeholders (including operations) as well as liaising with clients or prospects on transaction deliverables before, during and after execution.
The Senior Associate will also assist with the day-to-day running of the team; this could include assigning tasks, training new or junior colleagues and contributing to broader projects.
What you can expect to be doing:
Support day-to-day portfolio management activities, including amendment/waiver request analysis, credit renewal tracking, coordinating transaction updates and audit responses.
Monitor financial and asset-level reporting across asset classes, life stages and geographies using company reporting, portfolio tools, bank accounts and internal systems.
For existing deals, support deal leads through the internal credit process by conducting analysis/research, drafting credit memorandums, and coordinating internal communications.
Liaise with operations, the deal team and clients to ensure accurate, timely drawdowns, payments, and monthly reporting.
Help prepare periodic portfolio reviews, including analysis and presentation materials.
Support the development and rollout of policies and operating procedures, working with operations, process enablement, business risk and senior credit officers, among others.
Support transaction execution activities, for both existing clients and new prospects, including due diligence and coordinating processes with clients, other lenders and internal/external partners.
Support the end-to-end process including engaging with clients/prospects, internal stakeholders, (e.g. relationship management, credit, legal, operations) and external stakeholders (e.g. external counsel, credit partners) to ensure successful outcomes
Support the structuring, underwriting and closing of warehouse facilities by supporting the creation of credit papers, cashflow modelling, collateral analysis, term sheets, financial models and deal structures
Build client relationships in the Fintech space

A keen interest in the technology sector and venture capital / private equity transactions
Ability and understanding of effective portfolio management.
