We are seeking a Risk Analytics and Modelling Senior Manager to join our team, to support and lead the build, enhancement and deployment of credit risk models across global portfolios. The Risk Analytics Senior Manager will work alongside existing teams to support our goal to improve HSBC’s risk management by providing analytics-based measures of credit risk. The ideal candidate will have the ability to lead model development projects with a strong quantitative background and Wholesale Credit domain knowledge.

 

In this role you will:

  • Lead the build, enhancement and deployment of Wholesale Credit Risk models (PD, LGD, EAD) for global Internal Rating Based (IRB) portfolios.
  • Drive enhancement of existing credit risk models in order to improve their performance or their applicability to other risk measurement requirements.
  • Drive deployment and maintenance of credit risk models on existing risk systems.
  • Support business model users by providing training, conducting user forum and obtaining feedback.
  • Support the internal review of the model development process.
  • Assist in the preparation of portfolio analysis and impact analysis.
  • Collect and analyse data in order to ensure modes are successfully built and are in line with regulatory requirements.
  • Confidently liaise with senior stakeholders and business model users.
  • Liaise with Risk Systems and IT to support model deployment.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Must have prior experience building Credit Risk Models (PD, LGD and EAD), preferably IRB.
  • Prior experience and thorough understanding of Wholesale Credit Risk processes.
  • Strong coding skills are essential (preferably Python or alternatively SAS).
  • Prior experience liaising with senior stakeholders and business model users in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to prepare clear and effective presentations, trainings and workshops.
  • Strong data management and system deployment skills.
  • An ability to drive delivery of projects within the agreed time scale, in liaison with all relevant stakeholders: team colleagues, model owners, credit, business, IT, senior management and model reviewers.

 

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
