We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our Markets and Security Services, Compliance Team, in the role of Regulatory Compliance Manager, Markets and Security Services, focused on the Global Credit and Financing business.

 

You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across the Markets franchise, shape how we respond to regulatory change, and strengthen governance, training and controls, while building a broader, more connected view of HSBC’s Markets platform.

In this role you will:

 

  • Form part of the Global and Regional Regulatory Compliance team that provides independent oversight and challenge of risk management practices to the Global Credit and Financing business within Markets and Securities Services,  operating within the second line of defence, to obtain reasonable assurance that they are operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, codes and HSBC Group Standards
  • Act as the SME for Markets & Securities Services Compliance to drive the global and regional approach in challenge,  guidance, support and interpretation to the Global Credit and Financing business within Markets and Securities Services; co-ordinate with equivalent counterparts in other compliance teams to ensure a consistent, best practice and ‘joined-up’ approach
  • Partner with regulatory change and other regulatory SMEs to understand new and revised regulatory requirements, codes of practice etc. ensuring changes and impacts are disseminated to the appropriate businesses, functions and / or jurisdictions
  • Own and manage a broad range of regulatory compliance queries covering existing activity and business-as-usual matters, ensuring advice is timely, practical and risk-based
  • Support new initiatives and change by advising on new products, services, processes and policies, including assessing regulatory impact and helping the business implement compliant solutions
  • Escalate and manage incidents and issues appropriately, ensuring matters are identified early, assessed, documented and progressed through the right governance routes
  • Draft, review and challenge key compliance materials, including communications, guidance, procedures and other documentation produced by the business or wider stakeholders

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Proven experience in a Markets Compliance/ Compliance Advisory role covering at least one market product area is essential (fixed income/credit is preffered)
  • Financial Services experience is essential
  • Ambition to enhance compliance knowledge and skills in a rapidly changing and dynamic Markets environment
  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills and confidence to deal with senior and executive level staff to defend guidance, sell the benefits of Compliance risk management and challenge their operating environment
  • Ability to work well cross-functionally
  • Knowledge of key UK, European and US financial services regulation including, MAR, MiFID, EMIR, Dodd-Frank and the FCA Handbook
