The Private Banking Regulatory Compliance Lead is a management role, reporting into the Head of RC HBUK & RC WPB Lead .. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that Regulatory Compliance in Private Banking HBUK is effective in identifying, managing and mitigating Regulatory Compliance risks and will ensure timely advice is provided to the Private Banking business. The role requires strong partnership with the Private Banking business to drive and accelerate the execution of Regulatory Compliance programmes that directly impact business performance. This role is accountable for the implementation of policies into the PB business and as such it will require close collaboration with various Risk and PB business functions.

 In this role you will:

 

  • Lead the Private Bank Regulatory Compliance team in HBUK
  • Work with and support Private Banking risk stewards, to maintain an effective control framework and to ensure compliance with all relevant external laws & regulations, internal codes and policies and good market practices. 
  • Provide advisory services to Private Banking to ensure clear understanding of Regulatory compliance risk exposure with respect to clients, transactions and products.
  • Strengthen Private Bankers knowledge of the management of regulatory compliance by incorporating regulatory compliance considerations in all activities undertaken.
  • Support Private Banking Compliance Advisory teams in HBUK to ensure all is consistent with the Groups management structure and operating model, governance, and Risk Management Framework.
  • Liaise and influence senior stakeholders on regulatory compliance matters
  • Ensure all policies, procedures and principles are updated for changes in Regulation and will be aware of its impacts on Private Banking.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

• Must have experience in Regulatory Compliance providing compliance advice within the UK.

• Thorough ability to liaise or have challenging conversations with senior stakeholders on regulatory compliance matters.

• Have experience identifying and managing risks proactively to minimize or eliminate any escalations.

• Will have the ability to articulate the groups approach to risk management, with a particular focus on ability to summaries key areas of focus.

 

This role is based in London on a hybrid working basis.
