HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.
We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for a Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income.
Portfolio Management role in active Fixed Income with the London Global Rates & FX team who manages a range of Global and UK government and Aggregate portfolios (funds) and provides strategy for the broader franchise. The role has research as well as portfolio management responsibilities for mostly developed sovereign bond markets and G10 currencies
In this role you will:
- Perform portfolio management tasks for Rates and FX (portfolio construction, trade seizing & order implementation, portfolio maintenance, control of investment positions) independently and in collaboration with the team's other Portfolio Managers.
- Conduct detailed research and provide constructive analysis for Global Rates and G10 FX markets.
- Adopt a critical-thinking approach to decision-making and portfolio construction by applying the team’s philosophy and processes.
- Build effective relationships with the credit fund managers, analysts, investment specialists and other internal functions.
- Participate in the team’s Investment meetings and actively contribute to investment strategy formulation.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Possess a strong understanding of the Asset Management particularly related to Rates and Fixed Income asset classes is essential.
- Strong understanding of global cash investment processes and products and the needs of Treasury segment investors, i.e. Money Market Funds is essential.
- Have a Commercially led research and analytical mindset with the ability to work with data and create actionable insights and reports is essential.
- Really well organised and takes a pragmatic approach to dealing with multiple demands on your time and managing tasks is essential
- Strong stakeholder management skills that engender a ‘Trusted Partner’ status within a varied stakeholder group is essential.
