HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

 

We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management team for a Multi Asset Investment Analyst – This is a GCB5 level role.

 

The AMG Multi Asset investment team in the UK manages in assets for a variety of internal and external clients across a wide range of solutions.  The mutli-asset team runs HSBC’s flagship retail multi-asset products, this consists of the World Selection which is a core solution for WPB catering to their retail clients.

The World Selection team is small and works in a highly collaborative style.  This role will have full access to team members including those in senior positions, as well as the wider UK Multi Asset team and collaborates on overlapping issues such as idea generation, portfolio implementation, and multi-asset research. 

 

In this role you will:

  • Assist the Fund Management team with various activities across the Portfolio Management and Trading desks including Valuations, Trading and Reporting, Data Fund performance preparation.
  • Analyse and interpret financial data and use quantitative skills to inform and assist in accurate Investment decision making
  • Contribute to the multi-asset research effort (investment and portfolio construction) and seek to actively input into Investment idea generation
  • Collaborate closely with Fund Portfolio Management colleagues as well wider teams within the Asset management business
  • Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Possess a strong understanding of the Asset Management business including investment products, funds and how the general Investment process works is essential
  • Highly analytical and used to working in a data driven environment using Excel and coding skills is essential
  • Strong communicator (written & verbal) who can articulate ideas, thoughts and opinions in a confident and professional manner is essential
  • Really well organised with the ability to solve problems and tasks with conflicting priorities.
  • Educated in a ‘quantitative’ led subject and gained experience of coding using Python, Matlab or other similar methodology is desirable
  • Naturally curious with a genuine interest in financial markets and investments
