The Role

This Director role sits within Markets and Securities Services (MSS) Non-Financial Risk as the Financial Crime Risk (FCR) Lead. The role exists to ensure MSS financial crime controls are consistently designed, implemented and operated across asset classes and geographies. You’ll act as a central stakeholder across 2LoD, 3LoD and Group to shape a consistent and efficient approach to managing AML, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Tax Evasion and Fraud risks. Success means clearer MSS guidance, stronger governance and measurable improvements in control design, monitoring and remediation. You’ll also strengthen oversight through MI, horizon scanning and structured deep-dives that translate emerging issues into practical read-across actions for MSS.

What you'll be doing

  • Oversee a team of MSS NFR FCR subject matter experts to support MSS control effectiveness
  • Coordinate implementation of Group Financial Crime Risk policies and framework across MSS asset classes
  • Publish centralised MSS guidance that simplifies and streamlines financial crime risk articulation across geographies
  • Represent MSS in Group FCR governance to ensure MSS requirements are reflected in Group initiatives
  • Chair the Global MSS Financial Crime Risk Oversight Meeting and run asset class FCR deep-dives
  • Identify assess and manage control framework risks and issues then escalate to Senior Management where required
  • Deliver efficiencies in control design monitoring and enhancement including large-scale remediation and control uplift programmes
  • Oversee global MSS MI and horizon scanning including read-across from internal and external enforcement actions and emerging trends

What we're looking for

  • Bring substantial experience in Financial Services across non-financial risk and or risk management
  • Apply strong knowledge of Markets and Securities Services products and the regulatory and risk issues impacting MSS
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Financial Crime Risk control frameworks including AML Sanctions Anti-Bribery and Corruption Tax Evasion and internal and external Fraud
  • Show experience coordinating policy and framework implementation across multiple businesses geographies or asset classes
  • Evidence delivery of remediation and control uplift work including formalising issues actions and outcomes
  • Communicate complex issues clearly and concisely with senior stakeholders across business and risk functions
  • Build effective partnerships with 2LoD Risk Stewards Compliance Assurance Audit and Group stakeholders
