We seek an experienced Management Consultant (ideally from management consultancies or in-house Strategy background) to join our team to contribute to outcomes of key strategic initiatives by designing and delivering solutions that lay the foundation for HSBC’s future.

 

 

Business Consulting sits at the centre of HSBC Group’s growth agenda. Our consultants work to address HSBC’s toughest strategic challenges. We are part of HSBC Group Strategy and Corporate Development Department directly under HSBC Group CEO. We support all business lines of HSBC Group, working closely with Business Executive / Operating Committees with a purpose to ensure better outcomes for our customers as well as shareholders.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Conduct root cause analysis and think creatively to support effective problem solving. Navigating through unclear, ambiguous problems and help develop structure and definition. You will evaluate costs, benefits and obstacles of potential solutions.
  • Participate in the design of business strategies and operating models to deliver specific line of business’ outcomes. Bby undertaking gap analysis, test and iterate design elements of the solution.
  • Innovate and idea manage by keeping up with industry innovations, internal developments and ideas from other teams within HSBC.
  • Support commercial innovation by understanding the commercial purpose and priorities of the organisation, both now and in the future.
  • Contribute to identifying, quantifying, assessing and evaluating potential short-, medium- and long-term opportunities to deliver financial improvements for the business.
  • Manage stakeholders across markets by investing time to understand the needs, ambitions and expectations of stakeholders, managing any complexities stemming from inputs from multiple stakeholders.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • You must have extensive experience of working on business consulting & strategy consulting or related initiatives in Financial Services or other large complex organisations on any of the following:
  1. Business strategy (revenue growth, market entry, market sizing)
  2. Customer segmentation
  3. Distribution strategy
  4. Product and proposition design
  5. Business and financial modelling
  6. Cost reduction
  7. Business model definition
  8. Operating model design
  9. Digitisation of processes
  • Proven strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to create/follow disciplined approach to structure and solve problems based on facts/data.
  • Experience in developing strategic analysis/interpretation, options analysis, prioritization of ideas/initiatives, consideration of best practices, and recommendations.
  • Experience of working collaboratively in a cross-functional, global team environment with mid-level stakeholders as well as collaborating within a consulting discipline.
  • Comfortable working under intense time pressure, whether as part of a small project or large and complex programme.
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas proficiently and to a high standard of English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Be able to demonstrate business knowledge and sound business sense. Being curious about HSBC and the external environment that could impact HSBC

 

The base location for this role is London with a hybrid working pattern.
