The Lead Market Risk Manager supports in establishing and delivering the 2LoD Assurance activities within Traded Risk. Initially, this role will provide input and execution support for the Group’s Risk Management Framework (RMF) assurance programme and will support the roll out of a control assurance framework for Traded Risk that provides a common set of standards and definitions. This will require coordination with business and functional stakeholders at Group and regional levels and the role holder will support in managing and ongoing delivery of these activities once in a business-as-usual state.
This role will also support the thematic review and closure of risk and issues relating to Traded Risk arising from Management Self-Identified issues, regulatory requirements, Compliance, Internal Audit, and External Audit and ensuring that these matters are well understood by senior management and addressed on a globally consistent basis.

In this role you will:
• Support in the definition and scoping of the Traded Risk Assurance function, promoting and implementing synergies and efficiencies while securing an optimal and best in class control environment
• Review, analyse and assess the risk and control environment and regulatory reporting processes of Market Risk
• Support Market Risk assurance review teams through execution and ensure reviews are appropriately targeted
• Engage with Market Risk Stewards to align priorities and update on work in progress and ensure work is undertaken and executed to established internal standards
• Work with the business to understand the impact of emerging risks that require changes to controls, resources and business operations to ensure they remain within appetite.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Strong Market Risk domain knowledge
• Working experience in either Risk control, Operations and/or and risk management
• Experience in Assurance and Audit techniques including Regulatory reporting
• Strong writing skills and ability to take complex requirements and document them in an easy to read manner
• Proven track record of successful involvement with change management programs
This role is based in London on a hybrid basis.
