We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Investment Associate - Resources, Industrial and Energy Transition (RIET).

You’ll support the execution and origination activities of our Capital Markets and Advisory team across Resources, Industrials and Energy Transition sectors offering Mergers and Acquisition (M&A) advisory services, access to Equity Capital Markets (ECM) and other Capital Markets. The role will involve working with complex financial transaction execution, deal origination and direct interaction with senior bankers and clients in a face-to-face capacity.

In this role you’ll:

  • Conduct transaction execution and project management by engaging with relevant product teams to ensure a coordinated approach to client objectives
  • Build and maintain complex financial models and perform valuation analysis
  • Prepare transaction materials and coordinate with internal teams (product, risk, legal, compliance)
  • Be active in deal origination and client engagement through conducting industry research across RIET verticals (Energy, Power and Utilities, Chemicals, Industrial and Business Services) and prepare and deliver client pitches and presentations
  • Analyse financial statements, operating data and business plans and support the internal approval and credit decision making processes

To be successful in this role you’ll meet the following requirements:

  • Have experience working in Investment Banking, Capital Markets or aligned Corporate Finance areas and with knowledge of RIET verticals - Energy, Power and Utilities, Chemicals, Industrial and Business Services
  • Evidence strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with experience in financial data modelling and valuation including an understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Great communication skills to be able to work with varied information to produce easily digestible reports and presentations
  • Possess very good stakeholder management capabilities, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied internal and external audience
  • Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities
