HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

HSBC Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of HSBC Asset Management, investing globally in a wide spectrum of alternatives asset classes which include private market funds, hedge funds, real assets (direct real estate and energy transition infrastructure equity), infrastructure and private debts, venture capital, with ~300 staff across 10 offices (inc. London, New York, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong and Singapore).

 

We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management Alternatives business for an Investment Analyst.

In this role you will:

  • Screening and reviewing Private Credit fund investments to assess the overall risk / reward profile of the opportunity.
  • Assisting in the monitoring and management of the existing portfolio, which includes attending meeting and producing detailed investment monitoring reports.  
  • Originating investment opportunities and ideas to support investment deal flow as well as providing due diligence of investment opportunities.
  • Presenting the investment thesis and participating in investment discussions with the Investment Committee.
  • Responding to inbound requests from clients and assisting with their reporting and understanding of existing investments.
  • Maintain and update key investment databases including origination, workflow and performance databases.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following Essential Requirements:

  • Solid knowledge of corporate finance and private markets is essential and experience in credit-focused roles would be a bonus.
  • Strong analyst skills including working with financial modelling tools is essential.
  • Demonstrate strong commercial acumen with the ability to analyse, interpret and distil complex information into easily digestible content presentations and reports
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build ‘trusted partner’ contacts across a varied audience
  • Very well organised and takes a pragmatic approach to dealing with multiple demands on your time and managing tasks is essential
