We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Investment Analyst, Private Markets

HSBC Alternatives is the alternatives investment platform of HSBC Asset Management, with ~$80bn AUM and is one of the largest investors in private markets globally. The Private Markets team focus on Private Equity investments in Primary, Secondary and Co-investment opportunities.

In this role you’ll:

  • Assist in the due diligence of investment opportunities across a wide variety of investment strategies (i.e. Buyout, Growth, Venture), investment structures (Funds, Co-investments, Secondaries) across a range of geographic regions (i.e. North America, Europe, Asia Pacific)
  • Review investment opportunities to assess the overall risk / reward profile
  • Assist in the monitoring and management of the existing portfolio
  • Respond to inbound requests from clients and assist with their reporting and understanding of existing investments
  • Maintain and update key internal investment databases including origination, workflow and performance databases

To be successful in this role you'llmeet the following essential requirements:

  • Understanding of financial statements / balance sheet interpretation and general investment structures
  • Have a good commercial awareness gained from working as an analyst with well-developed quantitative and qualitative analysis and financial modelling skills and used to working with complex financial data
  • High level of Research capability with the ability to work with various forms of information to produce easily digestible reports and presentations
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied internal and external audience
  • Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities
