We are currently seeking an experienced professional to take on a senior role within the Global Recovery and Resolution Office (RRO), supporting the European Resolution Group (ERG) comprising HBEU Consolidated and HBUK. This role will lead the recovery and resolution activities for region and entities, supporting the management team in meeting a broad range of local and global regulatory requirements, seeking to improve financial stability and the resolvability of HSBC.
The role reports to the Global Head of Recovery and Resolution Planning on a functional basis and to the Treasurer, HBEU and CIB and to the Treasurer, HBUK on an entity basis. The role covers recovery and resolution planning responsibilities for the European Resolution Group (ERG), which includes HBEU Consolidated and HBUK. The Global Recovery and Resolution Office (RRO) is part of Global Treasury, within Global Finance.

In this role you will:
- Lead all activities covering both recovery and resolution planning requirements for the European Resolution Group, including the preparation of the HBUK and HBEU recovery plans, and HBUK and HBEU resolvability assessment framework submissions.
- Manage a small team located both on and offshore.
- Monitor and interpret both local and regional recovery and resolution related regulatory. developments, manage and input into consultation papers, support and advise internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation on these matters.
- Oversee and support regional teams in meeting their recovery and resolution requirements including developing submissions.
- Assist the Global Head of Recovery & Resolution Planning in activities relating to the European Resolution Group, specifically preparing papers and leading the ERG Management Meeting.
- The role will involve working with many stakeholders across the Global Businesses and Infrastructure team (functions, COO and CIO) and the regional and Group teams, which will include senior management and regulators.
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- Existing working knowledge and experience of Treasury Risks (i.e. Capital, Liquidity & Funding or IRRBB risk management), or existing working knowledge and experience of recovery & resolution planning requirements is a prerequisite for this role.
- Strong technical skills with the ability to break down complex information and requirements and communicate these effectively to a broad range of senior stakeholders.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, collaboration and influencing skills including up to Executive level and the ability to drive decision making.
- Demonstrable expertise in planning and organisation of complex tasks with the ability to be innovative in developing business solutions.
- Understanding of HSBC Group organisational structures, processes and risk management frameworks preferred.
- Detailed Financial services and commercial banking business and product knowledge required.
