Join the Global Design Team at HSBC within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB), where customer-centric design meets scale, impact, and craft excellence. We’re seeking a visionary Head of Product Design to lead one of the most critical and high-impact teams in our global organisation. This is a unique opportunity to shape the digital experiences for millions of affluent customers around the world, across retail banking, wealth, and insurance.
You will oversee a large team of globally distributed product and UX/UI designers, ensuring world-class design outcomes for HSBC’s flagship mobile app and wider platform. As a senior design leader, you’ll partner closely with business, product, and engineering teams, elevate our design vision, and embed a culture of creativity, quality, and innovation.

We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Product Design.
In this role, you will:
- Set Vision & Strategy: Define and champion a bold, scalable vision for the mobile experience in collaboration with global product leaders, translating strategy into seamless, human-centred journeys.
- Lead & Inspire at Scale: Manage and mentor a large, diverse team of designers, creating an environment where high performance, inclusion, and craft excellence are the norm.
- Deliver Global Impact: Oversee the end-to-end design of mobile journeys across markets across the globe, balancing global consistency with local relevance.
- Elevate Design Practice: Advance our design systems, processes, and thinking, co-creating new blueprints where needed, and embedding quality and accountability across all work.
- Influence Across HSBC: Represent the voice of design at senior leadership forums, demonstrating how customer experience drives business value and future growth.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Exceptional Design Credentials: An extensive portfolio of work across mobile app experiences that showcases design leadership, strategic thinking, and exceptional execution.
- Leadership in Complex Environments: A proven track record managing large, distributed teams in global, matrixed organisations, ideally within financial services, wealth or fintech.
- Strategic & Systems Thinking: Fluency in service design and digital ecosystems, with the ability to translate complex requirements into coherent customer journeys.
- Collaborative Influence: Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to align product, engineering, and business teams around a shared design vision.
- Future-Focused Mindset: A keen awareness of emerging technologies, AI, and design tools and how they can be used to future-proof experiences and practices.
