The Securities Lending Operations Team sit within the Markets and Securities Services Operations function. With personnel based in London, Hong Kong, New York, Kuala Lumpur and Bangalore, the team provide follow the sun coverage to the Agency Securities Lending & Liquidity Services clients of HSBC Securities Services (SSv).

 

The Team are a key component of the Front to Back Operating model and deliver a wide range of Pre-Trade and Post Trade Services to the business and clients, ranging from the on-boarding of institutions to the lending program and on through each phase of the transaction lifecycle.

 

We are currently seeking a high calibre individual to join the team in the role of: Head of Implementation, Securities Lending and Liquidity Services Operations

 

Reporting to the Head of Securities Lending & Liquidity Services Operations, this leadership role has two areas of responsibility, both of which are pivotal to the successful delivery of these key SSv products.

 

The first responsibility is to lead and manage the delivery of all strategic change and growth initiatives to the operating model, whether driven by Operations, the Business or industry change, this includes ownership for operations on all supporting systems and technologies, their stabilisation, demise/upgrade and the broader digitisation of the operating model.

 

The second area of responsibility is to lead and manage all operational activities supporting the On-boarding of Client and Market Counterparts to the Securities Lending programme

In this role you will:

 

  • Lead the Operations function in the delivery of all change and new business initiatives from design, management, delivery and execution in line with business strategy, while ensuring effective implementation to the op model.
  • Be responsible for the operational delivery of all client and borrower onboarding activities into the Securities Lending program, coordinating internal and external support and ensuring business priorities are managed whilst leading a programme of work to Identify inefficiencies and opportunities in the current operating model, building capacity, reducing risk and eliminating manual process through the delivery of a future state technology solutions. 
  • Be the relationship management lead for internal and external technology suppliers, ensuring strong governance and oversight whilst delivering a robust governance framework ensuring service quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Interact extensively with stakeholders, including the wider operations group, technology teams and the business, managing stakeholder relationships and representing the team at functional committees and industry forums.
  • Lead and manage the team with a focus on their performance and career development, including effective career planning, structured goals and consistent and timely feedback through performance management

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • An operations professional with significant exposure to leading across operational functions in a change or process management capacity, with a demonstrable exposure to improving operational models.
  • Experience of implementing initiatives evidenced by a successful track record in a leadership role of implementing new business and successful change delivery.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with an ability to thrive and to bring out the best in a team operating in a demanding and time sensitive environment, coupled with excellent communication skills and an ability to proactively engage and influence across all levels of the organization, including the capability to negotiate with senior leaders and delivery partners.
  • Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive operating models to consistently deliver desired results, with proven ability to apply design principles, methods and tools to solve business and operational challenges
  • A sound understanding Securities Lending/Financing, Cash and Liquidity products, services and supporting technologies with a comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others compliance with relevant control and regulatory processes.
