We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of IRRBB (HSBC UK).
In this role, you will:
- Responsibility to Protect, Enhance and Optimise IRRBB to enhance Net Interest Margin and protect value.
- Accountability for 1st line risk ownership of IRRBB in HSBC (UK), covering measurement, monitoring and managing IRRBB risks.
- Navigate the development, ownership and implementation of the HSBC (UK) IRRBB strategy, whilst ensuring Global alignment and consistency with regards to IRRBB identification, modelling and management.
- Achieve industry best practice through leading a small team responsible for the modelling of the interest rate behaviour of balance sheet products, enhancing HSBC (UK)’s IRRBB capabilities.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of IRRBB risks and regulations.
- Broad market product knowledge, in particular in fixed income and derivatives.
- Diverse and varied risk management experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of hedge accounting treatments, and the capital and liquidity impacts of different forms of IRRBB risk management.
- Regularly appraised on the latest industry (e.g. technology) and regulatory developments to be able to collaborate with various teams to incorporate and enhance capabilities.
- Thorough understanding of the macro-trends impacting operations and the ability to identify solutions to remain competitive in the market.
- Experience of directing, engaging, motivating and leading a team.
- Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical; being able to bring the policy, strategy, initiatives and narrative to life (e.g., presenting management information to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management).
- Experience of building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority, businesses, and geographies).
The base location for this role will be London and with a hybrid working pattern.
