We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Finance - Commercial Services.
This is a high-profile role and a key, senior member of the Infrastructure Finance management team. You will have an excellent opportunity to develop and grow this important role within both Global Finance and partnering with the Group COO organisation, and specifically with the critical commercial enablers being Corporate Services (CS) and Procurement.
In addition, you will play a critical partnering role with the Heads of CS and Procurement to drive bank wide programmes aligned the HSBC strategic roadmap. You will also be responsible for the oversight of Costs and Investments for Corporate Services (CS) and Procurement and will play a crucial role in supporting the development of strategic initiatives which realise operational and financial gains for businesses and functions across HSBC.
In this role, you will:
- Establish strong relationships with key internal stakeholders such as Head of CS and Procurement and their management teams, Business COOs as well as internal Finance colleagues across FP&A, Legal Entity CFOs and Global Process Owners.
- Be a member of critical decision-making bodies and play a critical role in developing and executing firm wide initiatives aligned to HSBCs strategic ambitions.
- Improve efficiency and productivity of CS and Procurement cost-related processes, with focus on the delivery of organizational synergies and the improvement of end-to-end processes and transparency.
- Drive cost performance goals and cost discipline across CS and Procurement, including the delivery of the Group's cost savings initiatives and support of Investment decisions and major programmes.
- Oversee a broad range of financial process and accountabilities which span strategic analysis, cost management advice, data and reporting enhancements, transformation program financial support, decision support, execution of planning and forecasting delivered with a significant element of stakeholder management.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Demonstrable experience of working within a large matrix bank.
- A commercial finance leader with a broad tool kit bridging group center financial leadership roles with global, complex business operations; including P&L support in a cost sensitive environment.
- Demonstrable strategic experience having designed, communicated and delivered complex functional and cultural transformation programs in relation to cost or to drive efficiency, across a globally matrixed organisation.
- Experience of building, influencing and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders (all levels of seniority, businesses, and geographies).
- Collaborative, engaging, credible and methodical (e.g., presenting and influencing to a wide range of stakeholders/ senior management globally).
- Demonstrable experience determining the appropriate MI and KPIs to drive operational effectiveness; highly analytical with the ability to assimilate and distil vast amounts of rich data into valuable insights for stakeholders across the Bank.
- Experience with motivating, engaging and managing a large team.
The base location for this role will be London and with a hybrid working pattern.
