HSBC Alternatives is the alternative investment arm of HSBC Asset Management, investing globally in a wide spectrum of alternatives asset classes including Private Credit, Private Markets, Hedge Funds, Real Estate, Infrastructure, and Venture Capital.
The Alternative Investments Operations Team is responsible for the global investment operations function comprising transaction and trade services, portfolios operations, product/portfolio oversight for all alternative investment products.
We are currently seeking a professional to join our team as a Senior Operations Manager within our Alts business
Reporting directly to the Head of Investment Operations, the role will manage the operations of the Direct Asset products which include Private Credit (Direct Lending loans, Infrastructure Debt, Revolving Credit, Trade Finance) in the form of funds and mandates (Open Ended) along with direct management of a team of 2 people
In this role you will:
- Management and oversight of investment operation activities with a focus on Private Credit and including but not limited to: Transaction & Trade Services, Valuation and Performance oversight (NAV review), Liquidity & Treasury Management, Product launches and closing and overall reporting
- Ensuring counterparties are providing appropriate trade execution & settlement and strong transaction service according to PLAs/SLAs
- Ensure an accurate and high standard of interaction with client and service providers for timely resolution of queries & issues.
- Manage (directly and indirectly) colleagues locally and in other geographical regions (Bangalore) to support cross-border interaction and collaboration.
- Comply with all relevant risk & compliance regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of the business.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Extensive experience in Alternative Investment products, particularly Private Credit is essential.
- Experience of working with mandates and fund structuring of Evergreen / Open Ended funds is essential.
- Demonstrable evidence of leading operational procedures, system change and improvement
- Experience of leading a team either directly or indrectly.
- Ability to communicate clearly on technical issues and translate complex data and information into a succinct format when dealing with clients, investors and colleagues.
- Project credibility and confidence that engenders a ‘trusted advisor’ status across a wide range on internal and external stakeholder audience.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in an efficient and accurate manner often with conflicting priorities.
- Professional accounting qualifications: CAIA, CFA, ACCA, CIMA, ACA are desirable.
This role is based in HSBC office at 8 Canada Square London with flexibility for home working however you should be able to travel to London on a weekly basis.
