We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Group Media and Insights Officer.

 

The Group Media Relations & Insights Manager will support the wider media team to strengthen reputation through delivery of external communications, effective handling of reputational media issues and proactive media engagement. The role will also be responsible for the effective management of media monitoring and act as a subject-matter expert on analysis/measurement of media coverage of HSBC for the team.  

 

The role holder will work with energy and pace, and collaborate well with colleagues in Group External Communications, as well as Communications, Business & Markets and business stakeholders, providing guidance on both external communications and media governance.

In this role you will:

 

•Keep up-to-date with the external news agenda to ensure Corporate Media Relations responds rapidly and appropriately to relevant issues.

•Support on the development and execution of communications and messaging for key financial calendar events including quarterly results and AGM.

•Develop thorough knowledge of key media titles and industry influencers to help HSBC target media appropriately and drive understanding of the Group’s purpose and strategy.

•Actively engage with functional and business peers to build and safeguard the reputation of HSBC, including in-depth understanding and risk escalation that could impact reputation and performance.

•Support the use of insight and analysis of media coverage to protect our reputation and inform successful proactive media engagement.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

•Media Relations experience is highly desirable and strongly preferred for this role

•Good knowledge of media monitoring tools and measurement.

•Ability to develop effective working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.

•Ideally have knowledge of and/or relations with key business journalists.

•Basic knowledge of social media channels and uses.

 

This role is based in London, Hybrid.
