HSBC Asset Management (AM), the investment management business of the HSBC Group, serves HSBC’s worldwide customer base of retail and private clients, intermediaries, corporates and institutions invested in both segregated accounts and pooled funds. HSBC Asset Management fulfils its purpose of connecting HSBC’s clients with investment opportunities around the world through an international network of offices in approximately 30 countries, delivering global capabilities with local market insight.

We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for a Global Consultant Relations Director.

Part of the Global Marketing and Client Experience team. The team focuses on understanding clients and the identification, development and execution of marketing strategies, campaigns and activities that support and strengthen the HSBC Asset Management brand, support the drive for revenue and increase client satisfaction in order to meet agreed targets and objectives.

 

In this role you will:

  • Developing and executing the strategic account plans for Global, Local and Alternative Specialist Investment Consultant firms in the UK to ensure alignment with consultant themes and manager search priorities and HSBC AM’s investment offering
  • Build strong relationships with consultants across Manager Research, Delegated and Field Consultants.
  • Deliver against the agreed financial and performance objectives (e.g. secure new ratings, AUM & revenue growth, client acquisition and retention).
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Sales, Investment teams, Investment Specialists across all asset class pillars (Equity, Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Alternative Investments & Liquidity) to drive engagement with investment consultants around HSBC’s investment capabilities.
  • Ensure that all Institutional business activity conforms to AM best practice standards and regulatory requirements
  • Maintain updated contact and activity records in CRM

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Possess deep knowledge of the Asset Management segment including the relevant asset classes and associated investment processes is essential
  • A strong knowledge and understanding of the role that an Investor Relation Consultant plays and how it influences and levers the commercial outcome of Institutional Investors is essential 
  • Can evidence reputational credibility and recognised as a ‘Trusted Advisor’ that extends across a varied audience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and adept at selecting the appropriate messaging style and content to achieve the maximum impact is essential.
  • Strong analytical skills including working with financial models and an understanding of the fundamentals of investment appraisal.
  • Commercially led analytical lens with the ability to take a wide range to information and able to succinctly communicate it in a compelling manner.

This role is based In London and will involve regular UK travel.
