The value you’ll add:

 

This International Subsidiary Banking (“ISB”) Director role is required to maximize the value of significant international relationships by working closely with Global Relationship teams, group offices and product partners. The role holder is expected to manage a small portfolio of material subsidiaries of clients in the innovation economy with support of Relationship Advisors.

 

They will acquire, retain, and grow international client relationships for HSBC Innovation Banking while adhering to the Group values, business strategy, operational policies, regulatory requirements and risk management practices. The role provides dedicated relationship management to a portfolio of customers with accountability for sales, service, risk and operational delivery.

 

This senior position will also support Head of ISB with broader strategy, buildout of proposition, and deputizing in key meetings and forums. This role has the potential to add people leadership responsibilities in the future

 

What you can expect to be doing:

 

Focus on growing the business sustainably, by identifying opportunities to expand the portfolio and broadening client relationships by leveraging HSBC's extensive network, always delivering a high quality and robust service

Drive long term growth in line with strategic plans through appropriate relationship building, customer contact plans and pipeline management for new and existing customers

Responsible for identifying sales opportunities that address specific needs for our clients and managing these from identification to point of sale

Develop a deep understanding of client needs, in order to effectively adopt a needs-based approach, engaging clients and increasing new business

Build a strong understanding of the client's business and industry to promote insights, enrich client conversations and deliver fair outcomes

Command a strong understanding of the client through pro-active credit risk assessments and customer due diligence reviews

Confidently manage financial crime risk throughout the client lifecycle by identifying, assessing, accepting, monitoring, escalating and mitigating risk

 

Requirements:

 

Proven passion for the innovation economy, knowledge of venture capital and profile of venture backed companies

Experience in managing complex commercial relationships with international needs

Experience of delivering of an excellent customer service and proactively look for innovative ways to improve the service delivered to customers

Ability to interact with business customers at all levels

 

Skills:

Good commercial lending, risk assessment, trade finance, cash management experience

Strong risk management skills

Strong credit assessment skills, particularly with regard to more complex and structured facilities with an international dimension

Strong analytical ability

Good level of business acumen and commercial awareness, including economic, cultural, procedural and regulatory issues

Builds effective networks across business areas, developing relationships based on mutual trust
