The role holder will play an integral role within the Enterprise Risk Management function where they will lead on Resilience Risk and Infrastructure oversight at a global level CIB-level and HBEU. The successful candidate will strive to ensure that Resilience Risks are managed within appetite; and, oversight of the identification and management of risks associated activities across CIB and HSBC Bank plc’s operations are based on the Group defined approach to proactively identify, assess, measure and report on, mitigate and control risk exposures associated with HSBC’s businesses and operations at all levels of the organisation.

In this role you will:

 

  • Ensure the integrity, timeliness and completeness of risk and control identification, assessment and information within the Group’s Risk and Control system of record as well as directing documented remediation plans for residual risks
  • Develop, deploy and embed the Risk Management Framework (RMF) and provides advice, guidance and challenge in relation to Resilience Risk oversight and control effectiveness in HBCE
  • Provide 2LOD oversight of emerging resilience risks, ensuring CIB & HBEU can mitigate these timely and cost effectively 
  • Maintain strong relationships with local Regulators across Europe in order to have an active understanding of both current and future direction of laws, regulations and enforcement
  • Actively engage with and challenge stakeholders whilst striving to maintain constructive relationships that ensure thorough lines of communication on on strategic plans, investment and change programme matters.

 

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Deep knowledge of a financial institutions business model, services, products and key risk drivers and a demonstrated ability to effectively balance risk management, regulatory expectations and commercial pragmatism. 
  • A deep understanding and technical expertise of resilience risk, in particular Data, Technology and Cyber, and the ability to develop, embed and maintain risks, including how risks can be identified, assessed, monitored and controlled and mitigated where relevant.
  • Demonstrable understanding of end-to-end business process flows, and all risks associated to ensure operational resilience. A depth of knowledge and understanding of the controls where manual and automated procedures are in place.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment including, risk, regulatory, geopolitical and competitor.

 

The base location for this role is London – Hybrid Working
