Director, Machine Learning Centre of Excellence

 

 

Group AI Management and Strategy (AIMS) team is responsible for developing and implementing Group-wide strategic programs across HSBC aimed at accelerating the commercialisation and delivery of Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning (AI/ML) across HSBC. Key areas of focus include responsible development practices, common platforms and capabilities, AI technology enablement, governance, and the Group-wide AI Strategy.

 

In this fantastic new strategic role, you will join a growing team to lead the Machine Learning Centre of Excellence (ML-COE). This is a critical role for HSBC that will deliver against some of the most complex Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Use Cases to deliver Value within our Group Businesses and Functions (GB/GFs). You will drive use case prioritization, delivery, assurance and help shape the future of the team through hiring and team building initiatives. You will be a trusted thought partner of the GB/GFs and form deep and trusted relationships with AI developers across the organization.

 

In this role, duties will include:

 

  • Use Case Management: Prioritising and managing AI/ML use cases to ensure alignment with business objectives and maximise value delivery.
  • Delivery Oversight: Leading the execution of AI/ML projects, ensuring timely and quality delivery.
  • Team Development: Driving hiring and team-building initiatives to strengthen the ML-COE. Mentoring and guiding a team of AI Data Scientists, Engineers and Researchers, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing.
  • Strategic Partnership: Establishing and maintaining trusted relationships with Group Businesses and Functions, acting as a thought partner.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with AI developers across the organisation to foster a collaborative environment.
  • Governance and Assurance: Ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and assurance processes.
  • Industry Trends: Staying abreast of industry trends and advancements in AI research, integrating relevant findings into ongoing projects.
  • Compliance: Ensuring compliance with HSBC Responsible AI standards and regulatory requirements throughout all AI development activities.

 

 To be successful in this role you should have the following skills:

  • AI frameworks and tools, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar technologies
