We are currently seeking a professional to join our team in the role of: Director, Head of Precious Metals Origination, EMEA.

Role Purpose:

 

Responsible for the sales of precious metals products and maintenance of client relationships across the EMEA plus India region. Where appropriate, the person will work closely with local salespeople to identify, develop and maintain customer relationships. The role holder must be comfortable with working across the full spectrum of clients from central banks and reserve managers, to hedge funds asset managers and corporate clients. The role holder will also be responsible for managing a team of two in London

 

 

In this role you will:

 

- Provide coverage and solutions to the current clients of the precious metals desk ranging from spot trading, financing and derivatives
- Drive new business through close relationships with relationship managers within banking
- Where appropriate, work with local non-precious metals sales people to develop new leads and strengthen existing relationships
- Control and direct the document negotiation process, particularly in the case of leasing or clearing account documentation. 
- Identify cross-sell opportunities where appropriate and work to foster collaboration with other areas within markets
- Identify product development opportunities to increase revenue or optimise current products through more efficient capital or credit utilisation.
- Maintain high standards for accountability and global standards, particularly with regards FCC
 

 

Key Accountabilities:
 
- Year-on year revenue growth in the key areas of Financing, Custody & Clearing and Trading/Flow
- Identifying and onboarding new client names, assisting with the credit application process and documentation execution
- Effective collaboration between other sales desks and relationships management teams
- Collaboration with the trading team and operations team
- Feedback from clients and internal stakeholders
- Evidence of participation in projects and initiatives that have a measurable impact on operational effectiveness
- Performance of HSBC in external rankings and surveys where applicable
- Exhibit a high degree of accountability for FCC and RCC issues due to heightened sensitivity to these risks, particularly in the case of physical metal
 

 

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

- Education in Finance field, or relevant working experience. 
- Must have proven working experience within precious metals.
- Possess excellent knowledge and experience in financial products and experience in dealing with corporate and/or institutional clients.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as presentation skills.
- Ability to connect with and develop relationships with clients and internal stakeholders across both corporate and institutional client space and diverse geographies.”
