The Role
To support the development and delivery of analytics on behalf of teams across HSBC Innovation Banking. Specifically, they are responsible for actioning assigned items from the Analytics backlog, agreeing requirements with stakeholders, analysing solution options, developing solutions or overseeing delivery from service providers.
Responsibilities
Work with stakeholders across HSBC Innovation Banking (will vary for each use case as we support teams across HSBC Innovation Banking) to develop actionable data requirements to meet their business needs for new or enhanced analytics.
Locate and analyse data from relevant HSBC systems and external data sources to confirm its suitability.
Design, develop and test reporting applications (e.g. reports, dashboards).
Conduct and document analysis to detect trends and data anomalies.
Identify remedial actions (e.g. report changes, data quality issues to fix) or escalate detections which give cause for concern.
Share information with stakeholders in suitable forms; these will include: requirements documents, report specifications/design, reports (inc. visual analytics) and commentary.
Participate in forums, meetings or events to interpret data and support decision making
Requirements/Skills
Advanced Excel skills to perform data analysis and build clear, accurate visualisations (e.g. pivot tables, Power Query, dashboards).
Hands-on experience with modern analytics tools such as Looker and Alteryx (or equivalent) to
create scalable reporting and repeatable analytical workflows.
Strong knowledge of data models and data dictionaries within a Banking and Financial Markets context, with the ability to interpret and apply standard definitions correctly.
Technically capable of validating and analysing data, identifying data quality issues, and translating requirements into clear user stories for Data Engineers (including acceptance criteria and key data definitions).
Proven track record of developing and delivering analytics that drive measurable business outcomes and support decision-making.
Relevant banking experience and domain knowledge, including products, key processes, and regulatory considerations.

Our home office in Finsbury Square, London. We offer hybrid working to our employees, so you can flex between home and the office, with a current requirement to be in the office 2 days per week.
