Cyber Technology and Engineering Controls Director

 

The GCIO Chief Control Office (CCO) team plays an important role in enabling the bank to operate within its risk appetite by ensuring efficient and effective risk and control management.  We do this by providing operational risk and control expertise, specialist technical knowledge and a deep understanding of the businesses and functions we serve. Key activities include implementation and oversight of the Group’s Risk Management Framework, ongoing and targeted controls assessments, implementing and maintaining robust risk governance, and championing a proactive risk culture. GCIO CCO works closely with partners across all lines of defence and is responsible for maintaining positive relationships with our regulators and external partners.

 

In this fantastic new role, you will join a growing team to partner with the Group Head of Controls for Cybersecurity to oversee the risk and control portfolio related to the Cyber Technology & Engineering (CTE) function in Group CISO.

 

Cyber Technology and Engineering is comprised of Network Security, Data Security, Cryptography, Endpoint Protection, Cloud Security, aspects of Infrastructure Security and Cyber Resilience and Engineering practices for Group CISO

 

This is a truly global, senior role, as a leader within the GCIO Chief Control Office (GCIO CCO) Function that directly supports the Group CISO of HSBC and will lead a team of Cyber Risk & Control professionals in Poland

 

In this role, duties will include:

 

  • Enabling the Businesses and Regions to execute their strategic growth objectives in a safe and secure way
  • Supporting CIOs to make decisions based on data to actively manage HSBC’s residual risk
  • Providing Businesses and Regions with clear understanding of Cyber risks and the role they play in mitigating these risks
  • Partnership with Risk and Control Owners to ensure risk positions are understood and reflected in the design and operation of control activities managed by CTE
  • Identifying, growing and supporting talent
