European Fixed Income Credit Research is looking for a Credit Analyst to help assess companies’ credit quality and support investment decisions across fixed income and money market portfolios.

This role focuses on producing high-quality credit analysis, setting and maintaining investment recommendations and keeping portfolio managers informed as market conditions and issuer fundamentals evolve. In this role you will

• Own credit analysis for a portfolio of companies including one or more sector specialisms
• Monitor and comment on market and company news from a credit perspective including ESG considerations
• Deliver individual issuer and sector credit analysis reports to support investment decision-making
• Set investment recommendations with ongoing monitoring of credit markets, credit spreads and issuer performance
• Partner with fixed-income and money market portfolio managers by providing timely credit advice and insights
• Prepare materials for the Local Credit Approval Committee and support related governance processes
• Manage ad hoc studies and specific projects aligned to Credit Research priorities
• Embed HSBC Group internal control principles including implementing audit recommendations and addressing regulator-raised issues

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements

• Demonstrate strong financial and credit analysis capability across corporate issuers
• Apply a strong understanding of financial markets, products and the broader economic environment
• Communicate fluently in English, written and spoken
• Use IT tools effectively to support analysis, monitoring and reporting
• Maintain strong attention to detail and organise work effectively to meet time-sensitive demands
• Work effectively with stakeholders including portfolio managers, responsible Investment, Equity analysts, Middle Office, Risk Management, Sales, Products and Marketing
• Operate in line with applicable laws, rules, regulations and procedures and uphold professional standards of conduct
• Identify incidents that could give rise to operational risk and escalate appropriately to the Operational Risk team
• Bring proven experience in credit research, ideally within an asset management environment
• Hold a finance qualification such as CFA, or equivalent certification, or equivalent demonstrable experience
