The Team You’ll Work With
The Controls Testing Specialist will report to a Controls Testing Manager and work across HSBC Innovation Banking, engaging with stakeholders from various functions to deliver testing and assurance activity. You’ll collaborate with Risk Owners, Senior Business Risk Managers, and the second line of defence to support effective risk oversight.

 

The Value You Will Add
Deliver control testing across multiple risk areas
Document outcomes in line with HSBC’s Risk Management Framework
Provide clear, constructive feedback to Control Owners
Support Senior Risk Managers with insight on control performance
Analyse themes to identify gaps and recommend improvements
Maintain strong partnerships with 2LoD to support risk accountability
Ensure quality and timeliness in all assurance activity
Contribute to reporting with a focus on actionable insights

 

The Experience You Need
Proven experience in control testing across multiple risk areas
Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and assurance methods
Ability to interpret and analyse control environments and testing results
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Experience in financial services or banking is beneficial but not essential
Comfortable working across functions, managing stakeholders, and handling detail independently
