We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Chief Product Officer, Host-to-Host (H2H) Channels. This role supports Client Connectivity across Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB), including Global Payment Solutions, Global Trade Solutions, Markets & Securities and Credit & Lending.

 

The Chief Product Officer is accountable for defining end-to-end product strategy for HSBC Connect and SWIFT for Corporates (incl. HSBC Connect Digital, Heritage and ISBI) across all of Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB). Oversees all activities across the product development life cycle i.e. product development, commercialisation, and risk management for specific product domain.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Define and execute short-, medium- and long-term product strategy. Identify market trends, fintech disruptions, new technologies (AI, cloud, blockchain), regulation and client needs to drive innovation for clients and position HSBC as the world’s best client connectivity bank.
  • Develop a product roadmap that enables Corporate & Institutional Banking product strategy across Global Payment Solutions, Global Trade Solutions and Credit & Lending including Innovation Bank. Work with other product domains to algin roadmaps to supercharge value delivery to clients, accelerate time to market and reduce cost of change (CTB and RTB).
  • Deliver product capabilities that remove friction during onboarding, use and service – automated onboarding, self-service, and intuitive user experience design. Partner with Sales, Client Service and Coverage to address client feedback in product design.
  • Drive a front-to-back, collaborative culture across business, technology and operations teams. Collaborate with technology and operations to align goals. Empower product owners and agile delivery teams to execute within client connectivity, or in support of other SVS business outcomes by clearly articulating product vision, roadmap and prioritisation.
  • Own commercialisation and readiness for client connectivity. Ensure proper go-to-market plans are in place including pricing strategy and billing procedures. Track benefit realisation in line with business case OKRs and team KPIs/scorecard.
  • Lead a team of product managers, product owners and journey architects. Enable high performance and risk aware culture. Cascade strategy and connecting to individual goals, and proactively manage team performance with timely action against OKRs, KPIs and individual objectives. Provide feedback and coaching to underperforming team members.
  • Be a member of the Client Connectivity Leadership Team, assist the definition and adoption of the Client Connectivity strategy, supporting the broader team including countries and regions to meet SVS OKRs and KPIs.
  • Maintaining regular dialogue with members of the CIB Product Leadership teams, Regional and Country Stakeholders in support of best practice

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Substantial, proven, Product Management experience or equivalent, including a proven track record and experience of managing diverse, cross functional or regional teams.
  • Strong managerial, leadership, communications, organizational, decision-making, lateral thinking, analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent knowledge and direct experience of Product life cycle disciplines.
  • Ability to lead people and connect at all organizational levels.
  • Detailed-oriented.
  • Change agent with a good track record of implementing an organizational, procedural, technology and people transformation programs.
