We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join the Corporate Banking team in the role of Broker Business Development Manager. The Corporate Banking team support businesses with sales revenues between £15M-£350M. The base location for this role will primarily be based from London, however, will support in the national development of Brokers and Intermediaries who are aligned to Corporate Banking across the UK.  This role will include regional travel to carry out regular meetings with Brokers and Intermediaries, as well as supporting team leaders and relationship directors.

 

The UK Corporate Brokerage team is a newly formed business focussed on establishing commercial relationships with intermediaries operating across both the SME and Corporate market.  The role will primarily focus on developing relationships with firms who operate in the Corporate market. The role of Broker Development Manager will report to the Head of Corporate Brokerage, but supports teams across the whole of UK Business Banking.

 

The Corporate Broker Development Manager will have primary responsibility for the development of broker and intermediaries who operate in the Corporate space. This will include identification and onboarding of new broker and intermediary relationships to HSBC as well as the development and broadening of relationships with existing brokers.

In this role, you will:

  • Cultivate and manage relationships with brokers and other introducers to drive business opportunities.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to expand the bank’s network of brokers and introducers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely issuance of indicative terms and seamless onboarding of clients introduced by brokers.
  • Build relationships with Area Directors, Team Leaders and Relationship Directors inspiring and motivating colleagues to ensure a consistent broker proposition is delivered.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor activities, and potential opportunities for business growth.
  • Provide training and support to brokers on the bank’s products, credit appetite and capability.
  • Stay informed about industry regulations and compliance requirements relevant to broker interactions.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to create targeted campaigns and promotional materials for broker engagement.

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven experience in business development, particularly in the financial services sector.
  • Proven ability to work with and regularly interacting with brokers and intermediaries, holding strategic conversations with complex requirements for clients.
  • A proven track record of deal origination and execution via the broker market. 
  • Strong understanding of banking products, services, and financial markets
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to deliver compelling presentations with a willingness and ability to interact and quickly build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret financial data and make strategic recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple workstreams and competing deadlines, with excellent time management, planning and organization skills.
  • Influencing skills and ability to build positive working relationships with intermediaries, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
