We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate ECM

HSBC is the leading MENAT ECM house and has led, as Global Co-ordinator, many first-of-a-kind transactions including the world’s largest ever IPO (USD29.4bn IPO of Saudi Aramco), the first ever ABB in Saudi Arabia (Almarai, 2017) and first ever Secondary Marketed offerings in each of Saudi Arabia (Saudi Aramco, 2024), the UAE (ADNOC Gas, 2025) and Qatar (Ooredoo, 2025).
HSBC’s ECM Syndicate desk in London operates as one of the syndicate ‘hubs’ alongside desks in Hong Kong and Riyadh (newly established) facilitating client access to investors in all corners of the globe. All applicants should have an extremely strong ability to operate in a fast-paced environment, with clarity, accuracy and efficiency whilst maintaining a strong desire to win through effort, differentiation and intensity.
The successful applicant will be required to support the desk in all capacities including investor targeting, live bookbuilding, liasing with markets (public side) colleagues in sales and trading with regard to secondary market flows/themes/investor feedback, all of which are packaged up into our client narrative/pitching and transaction recommendations.

In this role you will be:
- Working closely with origination and sales/trading across pitching, market updates, and transaction recommendations
- Executing transactions in conjunction with HSBCs global sales and trading platform across MENAT Cash Equity and EMEA Equity-Linked
- Working alongside origination colleagues, building relationships with clients and investors to understand financing needs, market access, timing and execution strategy
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- ECM Experience
- Syndicate and deal execution experience, ideally including the use of bookbuilding applications
- A real interest and good understanding of the drivers of equity markets
- Energy, enthusiasm, drive and commitment to learn and continuously bring a value proposition to win in a competitive market.
