We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Associate Director, Global Business Management.
You’ll have a broad remit covering aspects of business strategy, business analytics and business performance management across the Global Payments Solutions business.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you’ll:
- Solve issues facing the business by connecting people, leveraging the network and providing expertise, bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous problems
- Synthesize strategy, data and insights to drive the GPS narrative and outcomes, translating complex analysis into clear, compelling stories that resonate with senior stakeholders and support decision-making
- Support governance around business performance, which may include reporting into senior stakeholders across the Group, taxonomy, cost control, ways of working, workforce management and FTE management
- Drive diverse projects and initiatives to enhance business performance, ensuring alignment with global priorities through the development of standardised processes, robust analytics, and ongoing forecasting
- Build and maintain strong networks with key internal stakeholders, enabling execution at pace and being seen as a trusted partner and influencer across boundaries
- Apply AI literacy and a continuous learning mindset to improve how work gets done, identifying opportunities to use data, automation and AI-enabled tools responsibly to enhance insight generation, reporting efficiency, and decision support
- Champion effective storytelling and communication, tailoring messages for different audiences, using narrative structure, visuals and crisp executive summaries to drive alignment and action
- Provide support and guidance in an environment that is often non-routine, delegated and has conditions of uncertainty
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong payments and cash management background
- Must be a strategic thinker, with the ability to work with others to collectively develop and execute complex strategic plans
- Strong communication skills (both spoken and written), including the ability to craft clear narratives from complex information and present confidently to senior audiences
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills that facilitate strong collaboration across business areas to deliver desired business outcomes and objectives
- The ability to work with a considerable degree of autonomy and pace on high priority deliverables
- Proven track record and confidence to work with internal senior management
- AI literacy and curiosity: interest in how AI and advanced analytics can improve business management, with a willingness to learn and apply new tools and methods
- Comfort with data-driven storytelling: ability to combine quantitative insight with qualitative context to create “so what” narratives that drive decisions, not just reporting
