From the first-time founders to the funds that back them and everything in between. Here’s to never standing still. We're proud to accelerate growth for tech and life science businesses, create meaningful connections and open a world of global opportunity for entrepreneurs and investors alike.
THE PROGRAMME
The Associate Development Programme runs for 18 months and has a focus on building the core skills you’ll need to excel in a career in banking. You will be challenged and given the opportunity to grow your skillset, all within a supportive and nurturing environment. You will work alongside a broad set of colleagues, each expert in their respective fields and all with the same mission to support our clients.
The programme involves moving through different rotations to build broad and rounded experiences. For the duration, you’ll be aligned to one of two pathways: Relationship Banking or Strategic Fund Solutions. The Relationship Banking pathway focuses on supporting innovation businesses within technology and life sciences, and the Strategic Fund Solutions pathway focuses on supporting the investors who deploy capital within the ecosystem.
Expect plenty of hands-on work with the client base you’re supporting. The programme also includes a series of structured trainings to ensure you have the base knowledge you need to succeed. Training spans a variety of subject areas including:
• Financial analysis and portfolio management
• Credit structuring and underwriting
• Client positioning and negotiation
• Our product suite and sales strategies
• The innovation ecosystem and venture capital funding cycles
Pathway – Relationship Banking
The Relationship Banking pathway will give you exposure to supporting businesses across a range of life stages and sectors. Our teams cover clients ranging from early-stage VC-backed start-ups through to large, public corporates. You will get involved in day-to-day client management, conducting due diligence, supporting debt & credit structuring, assisting with portfolio management and more.
Pathway – Strategic Fund Solutions
The Strategic Fund Solutions team manages the Bank’s client relationships with Venture Capital and Private Equity firms in the UK and EMEA. The team is also responsible for structuring debt facilities for prospect funds and management companies. It covers a broad range of transactions and underlying investment thesis – Venture Capital, Growth Equity, Buyout, Credit, Secondaries, and more.
