HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) provides comprehensive global, regional and domestic fund services including fund administration, global custody and sub-custody settlement and services. Securities Lending Operations is a dynamic department that works with partners across the HSBC Global Banking and Markets business to deliver Securities Lending solutions to clients.

 

The Markets Treasury function is seeking an Associate level Business Manager based in London to support the execution of a globally aligned operational business management framework.

 

Markets Treasury sits at the heart of HSBC and acts as the Street-facing arm of the Treasury function (which responsible for setting the risk limits and strategy in respect of HSBC’s balance sheet). Markets Treasury’s priorities are:

- Manage HSBC’s cash, liquidity and funding for 45+ sites globally.
- Manage HSBC’s overall High Quality Liquid Assets (HQLA), short-term funding requirements and interest rate positions of the banking book.
- Generate stable (and significant) revenues by optimizing return on interest rates and HQLA.

 

In this role you will:

 

- Support the Chief Operating Officer of Markets Treasury in ensuring global consistency and alignment of business processes and procedures where appropriate. 
- Carry out the execution of strategic initiatives as they arise under the direction of the Chief Operating Officer. 
- Provide business management for HSBC Holdings plc which is responsible for issuing external AT1, T2 and MREL/TLAC-eligible Senior Debts
- Provide day-to-day support for the people agenda as required by the Markets Treasury Executive Committee
- Manage the day-to-day oversight of Markets Treasury’s Travel and Expenses framework.  
- Review market data subscriptions globally and develop standard parameters. 
- Provide support to the Transformation Team that sits within the Chief Operations Office on specific projects when required. 
- Support general business management tasks such as maintaining business continuity plans, desk procedures, distribution lists, etc as well as process purchase orders, invoices, Service NOW requests, trade booking requests, etc.

 

 

To be successful you should meet the following requirements: 

 

- Proven working experience in a function demonstrating the ability to synthesise detailed information to execute to commercial needs e.g. Legal and Compliance, Enterprise Risk, Financial Planning and Reporting, Business Controls. 
- Has a ‘run to the fire’ mentality and has the ability to exercise judgement where the full suite of information is not available. 
- Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to bring stakeholders along the journey to drive projects to completion.- Able to solve problems; prioritize tasks; and collaborate as part of a global team across multiple time zones, when appropriate.  
- Experience delivering, or supporting the delivery of complex multi-functional transformation initiatives.
- Has an understanding of the processes and behaviours that underpin the identification, monitoring and mitigation of non-financial risks.
