We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Group Company Secretary.

 

The role provides the opportunity to work with senior stakeholders from across the bank, including Board Directors, and offers a bank wide view of key risks facing the Group, and how they are managed.

 

The Assistant Group Company Secretary supports the provision of end-to-end governance and company secretarial services to the Group Risk Committee (GRC) and the Group Risk Management Meeting (GRMM).

 

The role provides an opportunity to be part of a dynamic and dedicated governance function, supporting the delivery of the bank’s strategy and purpose.

In this role you’ll:

 

  • Provide governance support as a subject matter expert including attending Committee meetings to prepare draft minutes and actions
  • Liaise with members of the team to ensure reports to the Committees align with members’ expectations, including addressing open actions, and reflect internal and industry governance best practices
  • Take an active lead in the rollout and implementation of governance simplification measures, including digital tools
  • Draft a variety of material including briefings for the Committee chairs, external disclosures, and papers for Committee review
  • Work closely with colleagues within Corporate Governance to ensure streamlining of agenda items across Committees and Boards

 

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

 

  • Track record of successfully delivering against competing priorities
  • Strong technical expertise in governance and/ or risk management
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience of company secretarial, governance and regulatory environment pertaining to large complex financial services organisations
  • Experience in collaborating with a variety of stakeholders on complex topics
  • Experience of contributing to cultural change and/or significant change efforts
