We have an opportunity within HSBC Asset Management for an Alternatives RI Specialist, Private Credit.
The Alts Responsible Investment team has a crucial role in delivering this ambition as many clients, and increasingly regulators, expect alternatives asset managers to integrate ESG factors into their investment decision-making.
The role holder will support the analysis and integration of ESG issues into the Alternative Credit investment processes and plays a vital role in influencing deal teams in the Capital Solutions and Private Credit teams to assess the implications of sustainability issues for investment decisions. The individual will also engage with investee companies / projects on the management of ESG issues.
In this role you will:
- Support the integration of ESG across private credit investment strategies along with the development and evolution of an appropriate sustainable frameworks for Alternative Credit to help minimize greenwashing risk.
- Supplement work of the investment team with relevant insights, analysis and data on ESG topics relevant to the project or asset class.
- Build effective relationships with key stakeholders to enable integration of ESG factors into investment processes along with improving on material ESG issues that aim to deliver enhance shareholder value.
- Collaborate with internal investment and client teams in responding to client requests on ESG topics and produce thought pieces on sustainability topics.
- Provide input into other RI-related activities including participation in working groups, presentations etc.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following:
- Evidence the appropriate level of knowledge in how ESG and Sustainability investment processes in Alternatives Private Credit are structured is essential.
- Have well developed quantitative and qualitative analysis skills and be comfortable working on multiple projects is essential.
- High level of communication capability, able to work with various forms of info to produce easily digestible content and presentations is essential.
- Possess excellent stakeholder management skills, coupled with a professional confidence that engender the view of a ‘Trusted Partner’ across a varied internal and external audience is essential.
- Demonstrate really good time management, planning and organisational skills with the ability to managing multiple tasks often with conflicting priorities is essential.
This role is based at HSBC Office in London and has a hybrid working pattern
