Job description
If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.
We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.
Within International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB), we help millions of customers manage, protect and grow their wealth through our global network and market-leading capabilities.
We’re looking for an experienced Business Solution Architect to shape the target-state architecture for our Alternatives business within Asset Management—helping us modernise platforms, data and operating models across private markets. If you enjoy turning strategy into practical roadmaps, influencing senior stakeholders, and designing scalable solutions that meet regulatory and governance expectations, this role puts you right at the centre of meaningful transformation.
As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
In this role you’ll:
- Define, implement and maintain the target-state business and technology architecture for the Alternatives business.
- Translate business strategy into clear architectural roadmaps and solution designs aligned with HSBC Group standards.
- Ensure architecture direction supports global Asset Management objectives and Alternatives growth plans.
- Identify opportunities for innovation, automation and efficiency across the Alternatives operating model (front-to-back).
- Influence senior management by clearly articulating architectural vision and linking designs to business value and regulatory requirements.
- Provide thought leadership in Alternatives architecture, mentoring junior colleagues on best practice solution design.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Strong Asset Management / Alternatives track record, with deep understanding of private markets (private equity, private credit, real assets, hedge funds).
- Business Architecture or Solutions Architecture background within asset or investment management.
- Solid data architecture capability, including data lineage, data flows, integration patterns and data governance.
- Extensive exposure to end-to-end Alternatives operating models, with hands-on experience of leading platforms (e.g., Allvue, eFront, Arcesium, SimCorp, BlackRock Aladdin, Investran, or similar).
- Awareness and practical exposure to emerging technologies (e.g., AI/ML, blockchain) applied to an Alternatives context.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and documentation skills, with the ability to work effectively across regions, time zones and a matrixed organisation.
