Advised Training Manager Direct Mortgages
Full-time, 35 hours per week

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of
Training Manager, Direct Mortgages.
This is a fantastic opportunity where you will get to own the training strategy, governance, and oversight for Direct Mortgages, ensuring full alignment to UK Direct Mortgage and Insurance business needs. You will work in close partnership with internal stakeholders to diagnose capability gaps, shape and evaluate training initiatives that bring our culture and business objectives to life, and raise the bar on customer experience at every touchpoint.
You will design and deliver engaging blended learning solutions (digital, virtual, and on-the-job), while ensuring all learning content is accurate, compliant, current, and reflective of regulatory and conduct requirements.
In this role you will:
- Lead the end-to-end training approach for Direct Mortgages, including governance, standards, and oversight.
- Partner with business leaders and SMEs to analyse training needs and prioritise interventions.
- Design and maintain blended learning journeys that improve performance and customer outcomes.
- Evaluate training effectiveness using data and feedback; continuously improve content and delivery.
- Ensure training materials remain compliant, version-controlled, and aligned to regulatory expectations.
- Embed culture and conduct expectations into learning, coaching, and performance support.
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
- Practical delivery experience in a regulatory training role, evidenced annually and on an ongoing basis.
- Experience of analysing training needs, training design and delivery in a retail banking / financial services environment.
- Experience and evidence of working in conjunction with internal risk functions, anticipating and adapting where required.
- Experience of managing and/or coaching and developing individuals, including training, upskill and accreditation sign off for delivery of individuals.
- Transferable skills/experience of managing priorities, working within budgets and delivering projects to demanding deadlines.
- Ability to influence and build relationships with stakeholders, and to work autonomously.
- Understand the banking industry, products, and regulations, as well as external market awareness and detailed knowledge of mortgages and protection, propositions, products, systems, and procedures.
- Have worked with Mortgage Advisers and have a detailed understanding of the Mortgage Adviser community.
You are required to have the essential qualifications below for this position:
- R01 / CF1 and CF6 or CeMAP (or equivalent) mandatory.
- R05 is desirable.
