We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Commodities Trade Finance Manager. This role can be based out of London, Birmingham, Manchester or Leeds.

You’ll support the effective operational delivery of the TMU function by promoting best practice and ensuring consistent adherence to established policies and processes. You’ll ensure that credit, market, and price risks are identified, monitored, and managed appropriately. You will also play an active role in implementing and embedding the Collateral Management System by driving its effective day-to-day use. In this role you will:

  • Monitor liabilities and collateral under secured CTF facilities
  • Assess the quality, value and acceptability of collateral provided, in line with the approved facility parameters and the control of movement and disposal of collateral as required under the facility terms
  • Maintain clear and accurate positions detailing customer exposure, collateral and outstanding transactions ensuring they are allocated in accordance with the approved facility terms
  • Collect, collate and review drawdown information required to process client transactions
  • Monitor and control in-flight transactions to identify and respond promptly to irregular activity, applying risk-based oversight with a focus on high-risk indicators
  • Assist in the production and execution of CTF facilities and transactional documentation

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of Trade Finance
  • A comprehensive understanding of the regulatory frameworks and compliance requirements
  • Proven ability to build effective networks both internally and externally and create opportunities for others to work collaboratively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to share and present information in a clear, concise and accurate way
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisation skills

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.
